(Tilbury, ON, August 16, 2023) Maizex Seeds is launching its national branding strategy and its 2024 sales campaign in Chatham-Kent this week, home to its corporate offices and two processing plants.

Some 250 Maizex dealers and sales representatives from across Canada will be on hand for the event which is occurring on the fifth anniversary of the formation of a joint venture between Maizex Seeds and Quebec-based Sollio Agriculture.

“When we launched the joint venture between Maizex Seeds and Sollio Agriculture five years ago, our goal was to ensure our joint customer and distribution base, formed by bringing two seed businesses together, was informed and engaged in our new direction,” said Blake Ashton, General Manager of Maizex Seeds. To support this, the company kept both legacy seed brands, using Maizex for all seed corn hybrids and Elite for all soybean varieties.

“Starting with the 2024 campaign, the vision is to grow under one strong national seed brand—Maizex Seeds. This change allows both our team and dealer network to focus their efforts under a single banner and allows customers to see our best-in-class product performance in corn and soybeans across Canada through the lens of the Maizex Seeds brand,” he said.

To highlight this change and what it represents, Maizex has launched a new look for the Maizex Seeds brand this summer and is highlighting the strategy with its dealer network this week.

“The first expression of this brand change that most farmers have seen is our new Maizex field signs for our corn hybrids and soybean varieties,” said Stephen Denys, Director of Market and Product Development with Maizex. “We have switched to a darker and richer blue that symbolizes our product and team strength today and going forward.”

Maizex dealers and sales representatives will have an opportunity to see the company’s operations first-hand, including its seed corn processing capabilities. Denys said participants will be touring Chatham-Kent to see what is involved in producing the hybrid seed corn that is shipped across Canada, and then to see the result of that production in product plots.

“These plots feature our key products for all parts of Canada, from long-day hybrids sold and grown by farmers in Chatham-Kent all the way to very early-day hybrids grown in early-day markets such as central Alberta through to Manitoba, Eastern Quebec and the Maritime provinces,” he said.
