Summer Job

Maizex Seeds Inc. is looking for enthusiastic students to assist in our R & D corn nursery. Join us for a fun summer and an opportunity to learn about corn pollination and test new varieties of corn.

Position Summary:

• Student must be at least 14 years of age
• Entry-level, short-term summer job, 15 positions available

Compensation:

• $17.30 per hour
• Season end bonuses are given to crew members with exemplary attendance

Tasks:

• Pollinating corn by hand
• Some hoeing
• Detasseling

Schedule:

• July 10, 2025 to August 10, 2025, Monday-Saturday
• 8:00 AM until finishing our rounds in the field, usually around 5:00 PM-6:00 PM
• Hours may vary depending on weather and crew size

Physical Requirements:

• This job involves walking all day and constantly reaching for tassels
• Exposure to heat and pollen

Contract length: 3 – 4 weeks
