Are you a student looking for work this summer? Maizex Seeds Inc. is looking for enthusiastic students to assist in our R&D corn nursery. Join us for a fun summer and an opportunity to learn about corn pollination and test new varieties of corn.
Position Summary:
- Entry-level, short-term summer job
- 10 positions available
Compensation:
- $15.50 per hour
- Season-end bonuses are given to crew members with exemplary attendance
Tasks:
- Pollinating corn by hand
- Some hoeing
- Detasseling
Schedule:
- July 10, 2023 to August 10, 2023, Monday to Saturday
- 8:00 AM until finishing our rounds in the field, usually around 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Hours may vary depending on weather and crew size
Physical Requirements:
- This job involves walking all day and constantly reaching for tassels
- Exposure to heat and pollen
Required Qualifications
- Students must be at least 14 years of age
- Reliable and hard-working
- Enjoy working outdoors
