Maizex Seeds Inc. is looking for enthusiastic students to assist in our R & D corn nursery. Join us for a fun summer and an opportunity to learn about corn pollination and test new varieties of corn.
Position Summary:
- Student must be at least 14 years of age
- Entry-level, short-term summer job, 13 positions available
Compensation:
- $18.15 per hour
Tasks:
- Pollinating corn by hand
- Detasseling
- Weeding (minimal)
Schedule:
- July 10, 2026 to August 10, 2026, Monday-Saturday (start and end date are approximate)
- 8:00 AM until finishing our rounds in the field, usually between 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
- Hours may vary depending on weather and crew size
Physical Requirements:
- This job involves walking all day and constantly reaching for tassels
- Exposure to heat and pollen
Contract length: 3 – 4 weeks
