Two Rural Communities Receive Funding Support as Maizex Seeds’ and Lallemand’s “Hometown Roots” Contest Winners Announced

(Tilbury, ON, October 21, 2024) Three rural community groups are set to receive financial support, as Maizex Seeds and Lallemand Plant Care today announced the winners of the Hometown Roots Family Contest in Ontario.

Two Ontario farmers won the opportunity to support the community groups of their choice to receive up to $5,000 from Lallemand Plant Care and Maizex Seeds. Wallaceburg winner Ian Grant selected the Three Oaks Respite Cabin in Florence and projects with the Faith Baptist Church in Wallaceburg, with each to receive $2,500, while Lynden winners the DeBlieck family selected the Rehoboth Christian School in Copetown to receive $5,000.

The Three Oaks Respite Cabin is especially close to the agricultural community, as its mission is “to enhance and support the mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of individuals primarily involved in the agricultural and First Responder communities who are struggling with forms of stress and anxiety.” Their vision is to be “a quiet place where individuals who are facing emotional and mental fatigue can seek solace. It will provide guests with accommodation, resources and support for mental wellness, including the necessary resilience and coping skills needed for living well in their personal and professional lives.”

During the 2024 growing season, Ontario farmers qualified for the contest by planting Maizex soybeans treated with LALFIX® PROYIELD LIQUID Soybean inoculant.
